Thanks to a late night talk with Brad Johnson, 1-18-08news will no longer go into darkness. It’ll be up for at least another year as I, Matt Cookson, struck a simple deal with the sites previous owner.

Hope you guys stick around, as I’ll have some cool things set up in the future.

It’s the end of an era for many who have been faithful to this site since last July, but it is an unfortunate truth. 1-18-08news.com will be closing its doors next week. The domain is near expiry and I feel the site has lived out its course and has done what it was set out to do.

It was an excellent 12 months since I saw the Cloverfield teaser trailer before the start of Transformers. I had an amazing time this past year and I had never had so much reactions to YouTube videos as I did with 1-18-08news. It’s really set things in focus for me as an online marketer and it’s thanks to this site that I have the projects that I’m working on currently. I met new friends online and I’ve learned so much from the Cloverfield experience as far as promotion and new exciting projects go.

So even though the 1-18-08news journey is concluding, the legacy of what I’m doing now is still prospering well. With www.grayshotgame.com and www.planetxfiction.com just starting to make their mark online, there will be some exciting adventures through that. I encourage everyone who has enjoyed this site and its community forum to join up with either of those site forums to continue the strong community we have built.

Thanks again to all my supporters of 1-18-08news.com. It’s really a shame that all good things must come to an end. But I’ll always have good memories of this site as it was truly one of a kind.

This newest website of mine, FootageFound.com, will be a video network site similar to that of YouTube where filmmakers can upload their videos pertaining to first person document style footage. This website will showcase videos that are developed around the same style as Cloverfield, The Blair Witch Project, Quarantine, and Paranormal Activity.
